Working with Kinetic was all by chance. I had bumped into Angela during a local CIPR event that featured my university lecturer. She was so friendly and welcoming and after a few emails, a Costa coffee and hot chocolate, I was in the office to meet her amazing team.
Like anything, learning about the PR industry in school and university is very different to how it works in reality. From liaising with clients, to drafting and proofing documents and content to get everything right, down to the array of meetings and phone calls, it could not be clearer to see how hard this 3-woman team works, especially with the enormous white board which looms with tasks for the week.
I really appreciate the time taken to give me tasks which enabled me to improve my writing skills and confidence, as well as introducing me to new concepts such as social media calendars, GDPR, coverage monitoring programmes and developing practical ideas for content. I loved that I could contribute to actual projects and be treated like one of the team rather than a Starbucks runner like in the movies.
I’ll miss my little desk next to the moodboard, lunches in the hotpod and the happy and dynamic environment that the Kinetic office gave me every day despite however early it felt that I had arrived. I look forward to seeing them at future events!
