17 October – Moral Maze – You be the jury, 6.30 – 9pm at The Joint Stock Theatre in Birmingham

In the era of Fake News, our commitment as PR practitioners to maintaining high ethical standards of practice has never been more critical to our own reputation. The CIPR code of conduct requires its members to maintain the highest standards of professional endeavour, integrity, confidentiality, financial propriety and personal conduct.

PR practitioners can often be asked to input into corporate decision making, when we provide counsel how do we manage the conflict between our professional role and our own personal opinions.

In this special event hosted by CIPR Midlands as part of CIPR’s ethics festival we invite you to be the jury as we debate three scenarios faced by PR professionals and take views from a variety of perspectives. Attendees are invited to be the jury and pass their verdict on each ethical dilemma with live text voting to indicate audience reactions to the viewpoints from the floor.

The event starts at 6.30pm with light refreshments and begins with an intro to the CIPR ethics resources including the Code of Conduct, Ethical decision tree, Ethics helpline followed by three ethics case study debates which will conclude by 9pm.
