Kinetic to host a charity coffee morning in aid of Cystic Fibrosis
Not only is a coffee morning a great excuse to catch up with friends over a cuppa and a slice of cake but it’s also an excellent way to raise money for a fantastic cause.
Kinetic is delighted to announce that we are hosting a charity coffee morning here at our Birmingham office, in the heart of the Jewellery Quarter, in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The event will take place on Friday 13 September 2019, with plenty of tea and coffee, biscuits and cakes served from 11:00am.
All of the money raised will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, to support their continuous hard work and fight for a brighter future for everyone born with Cystic Fibrosis.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is completely unfunded by the government and solely relies on public donations and sponsors to fund cutting-edge research, drive up standards of care and support people suffering with the condition.
Here at Kinetic, we hold the Cystic Fibrosis Trust cause close to our hearts as a member of our team is connected to a person affected by the condition.
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic condition which affects more than 10,500 people in the UK. The inherited condition affects the gene which controls the movement of salt and water in and out of cells resulting in a number of life-limiting symptoms for patients.
Cystic Fibrosis causes a sticky mucus to build up in the lungs and digestive system which can cause difficulties breathing and increase the risk of lung infections. Mucus also clogs the pancreas which prevents enzymes reaching food in the gut to aid digestion. This means that most people with Cystic Fibrosis struggle to absorb nutrients from food and risk malnutrition.
While there is no cure for Cystic Fibrosis, it is vital that people with the condition receive thorough treatment. Medication, physiotherapy, nutrition and exercise all play their part in enabling patients to live a longer, healthier life.
